Sunday talk shows: NSA surveillance, health site woes

5:45 p.m. EDT November 2, 2013  The latest revelation about National Security Agency spying — that the agency cracked into data centers operated by Google and Yahoo — will be a topic of discussion on some Sunday network talk shows.

Another theme will be the apologies offered this past week by members of the Obama administration for the problems with the HealthCare.gov website.

Here's the Sunday lineup:

• CBS Face the Nation: NSA surveillance will be discussed. Guests include Michael Hayden, former director of the CIA and former NSA director, along with the lawmakers who chair the House and Senate intelligence committees — Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif. and Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich.

• ABC This Week: Former White House adviser Dan Pfeiffer and Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., will discuss NSA spying and the glitches with the Obama administration's attempt to enroll people in health insurance. Nate Silver, the editor of FiveThirtyEight.com, discusses the political landscape a year ahead of the 2014 congressional midterm elections. Actor Rob Lowe discusses his role as President John F. Kennedy in the National Geographic Channel film "Killing Kennedy."

• NBC Meet the Press: Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney will talk about his defeat in last year's presidential election and the roll out of the Affordable Care Act. Massachusetts Gov. Democrat Deval Patrick and former White House adviser David Axelrod will be on hand to offer their perspective on the issue.

• Fox News Sunday: Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, one of the architects of the Affordable Care Act, and James Capretta of the Ethics and Public Policy Center, will discuss the health care law's ongoing problems. Sen. Lindsay Graham, R-S.C., will talk about his threat to block the Senate confirmation of all presidential nominees until survivors of the 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi testify before Congress.

• CNN State of the Union: Rep. Michael McCaul, chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, will discuss Friday's fatal shooting of a TSA agent at Los Angeles International Airport. Republican Sen. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire will talk about the decision by Senate Republicans to block all presidential nominations until survivors of the Benghazi attack agree to testify before Congress. Former Democratic Sen. Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas will discuss how her support of President Obama factored into her re-election loss in 2010.
