Hellenic Train has announced two additional routes on the Athens-Thessaloniki main axis, a month after the Tempi accident.
The company informed the public about the additional routes that will be added to the country’s rail network from Monday. April 3 to route Athens-Thessaloniki-Athens will be followed by trains:
- From Athens IC52, departure time 10:28.
- From Thessaloniki IC55, departure time 10:08.
On the route Athens-Kalambaka-Athens:
- From Athens, train 882, departure time 08:28.
- From Kalambaka, train 887, departure time 16:45.
Bus lines continue to operate on selected routes until the railway is fully restored. The suspension of work on a section of the railway track in the Tempi area happened after a catastrophic collision of trains.
Recall that on February 28, 2023 in the area of the station Tempi It was the worst railway accident in modern Greek history that killed 57 people.
